Love VA Fauxsaic
Client: Archer Hotel Falls Church
This is an 8 ft. by 10 ft. fauxsaic for the Archer Hotel's new lobby bar in Falls Church, VA. The goal was to create visual impact and a photo moment for hotel guests with a lettering-based fauxsaic design that celebrates Northern Virginia, specifically the Mosaic District and Washington DC. We were inspired by the work of Nick Misani, the pioneer of fauxsaics.
The graphic motifs in the illustration were inspired by mosaics in the Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building. The flowers are stylized cherry blossoms to further celebrate DC.
